Throughout my journey as a photographer, or better yet, storyteller, one of the best parts, if not THE best part is, the people. Every single one has a story. And every time our paths crossed, the opportunity to tell that story arises. The Kiely clan has been a client of mine for so many years. Christy came to me when she was pregnant with Brennan. Our paths linked, as we both had two older boys and then BOOM! surprise, here comes this little girl! I love that we can connect and share the journey of motherhood.
Every time we would schedule a shoot that included not only her clan but her parents, her Aunt Tia and her grandmother, it would rain. No joking. I think this went on for about three years! We began to joke during dry times, all we needed to do was schedule a photo shoot and it would bring the rain! Finally, we had a day that no rain would arrive. The air was crisp and the leaves were changing. Her master minding efforts brought everyone together and we had a wonderful time. Lots of giggles, snorts and hugs, we captured this amazing family and their connections with each other. Every single one of them from her sweet, sweet grandmother to her Aunt were just precious and I loved everyone of them!
In the end, find someone to help tell your story. Let it be someone who you can kick off your shoes, curl up on the couch, review your images and choose how to adorn your walls with! Make the time, even though it’s tough to coordinate, don’t give up! In the end, it’s the only way to stop the time, even just for a moment. You’ll be so grateful you did!
